Int. Electrical Designer

We are seeking motivated self-starters and team contributors with 4 to 10 years progressive engineering experience, within an EPCM / industrial plant environment, to join our team. Successful candidates are committed to delivering fit-for-purpose approaches and designs for our Clients, and proven experience / proficiency with:
  • Prepare electrical deliverables (single line diagrams, layouts, schematics / wiring diagrams, heat tracing isometrics, panel schedules, cable schedules, etc.) for new and upgraded installations.
  • Verify, prepare, implement design calculations (e.g. voltage drop, cable sizing, cable tray loading, conduit fill, electrical heat tracing, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Canadian Electrical Code; knowledge of other regulatory and industry codes / standards an asset.
  • AutoCAD and Microstation experience (AutoPlant, 3D modeling software, SmartPlant experience an asset); must be comfortable working in a 3D environment and reviewing models.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills; works equally well in a team or independently.
  • Complying with established project, department, Company, Client and regulatory codes and standards; and providing engineering design services through utilization of technical knowledge and tools.

  • ensure conformance to established client and industry standards and codes throughout project stages.
  • High proficiency with MS Office suite of products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (design/drafting) and Microstation.
  • Ability to translate Client specifications and project requirements into 3D models, drawings, sketches, lists of materials and other types of design drawings.

Required
  • Technical Electrical Design certificate or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
